Indian apparel and footwear retailer Woodland is planning an aggressive expansion in India and abroad. The retailer is considering to open 60 new stores in small towns and metro cities this fiscal. The retail expansion is aimed to maintain its annual growth rate of 25 per cent in future.
The company currently retails its products through 5,000 multi-brand outlets in India. Over the years, Woodland has grown to be recognised internationally as one of the leading manufacturers of extreme weather outdoor gear and outerwear.
In addition to expansion in India, apparel retailer is eyeing to reach new international markets and strengthening its presence in South-East Asia, West Asia, Europe and the US.
The retailer that reported sales revenue of Rs. 1,350 (approx. US $ 210.8 million) in the previous fiscal is now anticipating to note further growth in revenue in the current fiscal.
Markedly, Woodland recently forayed into the Chinese market after inking a deal with leading leather shoes brand enterprises Aokang International last year. Aokang products are also available at Woodland stores and its online platform in India. The retailer is now planning similar deals in South Africa and Canada.
Woodland products are also retailed at around 1,000 stores globally, including Hong Kong, Russia and Dubai. After Aokang deal, the figure has reached now 6,000.
