As wedding celebrations are on the rise, the ready-made garment sector in Indore has witnessed massive growth, said reports.
With more than 1,500 small and medium-sized clothing manufacturers, Indore’s clothing markets have received demands from states including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and other southern states.
Nearly 50 per cent of the manufactured ready-made garments from Indore are supplied to southern states majorly Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and other markets including Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat, the report revealed.
President of the Readymade Textile Dealers Association Ashish Nigam has said that the wedding season looks “promising” and the garment industry will experience its peak business period due to higher number of celebrations this year.
To meet the inflated demands of the peak season, manufacturers have ramped up production and built up their inventory levels as fresh orders are also expected. The wedding season will positively impact the clothing and fabric traders and retailers as well, the report added.
