Mumbai based Pooja Clothing, manufacturer and exporter of woven garments for men, young men’s shirts, ladies blouses, dresses and skirts is increasingly focusing on automation. “Automation is the key for growth and we are very keen to incorporate automation in our factory. More so as there is pressure these days from tough market conditions, increasing productivity and cost cutting are the only way to tackle market conditions. We got some good attachments in my recent visit to GTE,” says the young Paras B. Chheda, MD, Pooja Clothing.
The company which inaugurated a new factory at Sangli, near Kolhapur, Maharashtra about a year ago is now looking at the next phase of expansion. “Our target was to attain production capacity of 25,000 value-added pieces per month in the 1st phase and 35,000 pieces per month in the second phase,” adds Paras.
Pooja Garments was predominantly servicing North American Clients which accounted for more than 85% of its business. With a view to reduce geographical imbalance, the company is now focusing on other markets as well such as Europe and South Africa. A few of Pooja Clothing’s clients are Shah Safari Inc., Eagle Dry Goods, Ten Deep Clothing and Half Moon Sportswear.
