Rank Apparel Exports, a new buying house in Tirupur, is working on specific buyers’ segment which includes small and emerging buyers. Prashanth, Founder of this small organization, who was working for an apparel importer, started his own initiative after the apparel importer faced difficult times due to mounting price pressure.
“In case of volume orders, Bangladesh is offering 30 per cent less price compared to Indian exporters; so we can’t do anything with regard to volume business. Hence, I decided to do something different on my own. I am, therefore, in touch with upcoming labels in different countries, especially those who are looking for smaller quantities. My past expertise and experience will be of immense help to these emerging labels,” Prashanth shared. His initial focus will be on France and UK with tops and nightwear for women as these items have good sale value in the specified countries. In such items, even small orders are reasonably priced.
As stiff competition already exists in small orders, Prashanth will focus more on product development, rather than just getting orders and executing them. “As my priority is on those clients who are new into this business or want to start a new line with a small budget, they may not be able to or may not like to afford designing and sampling cost. My assistance in this regard will be an added advantage to them as well as the exporters,” he said.
Few such prospective buyers are in touch with Prashanth who is working on dark fashion/strange fashion so fast that the first order is due to be completed in the next two months.
