Many apparel manufacturing companies have been supporting their staff and society very well during the pandemic. Noida-based Maral Overseas (part of LNJ Bhilwara Group) is one such company.
The company has been offering emergency assistance, besides helping with additional insurance coverage (for those not covered under ESI) to its employees and workers.
Additionally, it has also distributed approximately 10,000 masks through local administration and Noida Apparel Export Cluster (NAEC).
In its commitment to providing a safe working environment, Maral Overseas has been initiating efforts like arranging camps in factories for testing COVID-19 and anti-bodies, self-monitoring of employees’ health and disinfection of workplaces.
Shantanu Aggarwal, ED of the Group said, “Our priority is to protect our employees during COVID-19, and so we have provided them psychological and financial support.”
The company also decided not to deduct salaries of COVID-affected staff and workers.
Besides, it has also provided financial security to the employees, and purchased approximate 50 laptops for staff so they can work from home comfortably.
Sanjay Janghala, Business head ( Garment Division) of the company told, “Not just workers or staff of factories, but anyone having requirement in their circle, has been provided with oxygen concentrators, the bed and medical facility with the help of administration. The company has also been providing ambulance with oxygen facility as and when required.”
