CIEL Textile recently participated in Bharat Tex 2024, a global event celebrating the innovation and excellence of the Indian textile and apparel industry in New Delhi.
“CIEL Textile has been present in India since 2004, and it was only natural for us to participate in this important event for its textile industry,” says Eric Dorchies, CEO of CIEL Textile. “Our presence demonstrates our conviction in the potential of this industry as we continue to invest in and support the thriving textile industry in India. We look forward to showcasing our expertise and commitment to environmental and social best practices, as well as establishing successful collaborations with global partners.”
CIEL Textile is a leading name in India’s luxury shirt manufacturing sector through its subsidiaries Aquarelle, Laguna, and Tropic, serves top-tier clients such as Hugo Boss and Polo Ralph Lauren. With seven manufacturing sites in India, the company attributes 40 per cent of its production to its Indian operations.
“Sustainability is embedded in our DNA. Our achievements, including the prestigious LEED Platinum certification received by Aquarelle Samudra and Laguna Kanakapura and Laguna Doddaballapura, underscore our ambition to be The Best Global Fashion Partner at the forefront of sustainable practices,” adds Sarbajit Ghose, Managing Director of Laguna India and Asia Executive Director of CIEL Textile.
While CIEL Textile primarily serves Western markets, it also sees India as an emerging market, with a part of its production already catering to local demand. “India presents significant growth opportunities with a growing population and the anticipated expansion of the market,” adds Eric Dorchies. “With our current and future factory capabilities, we are well-positioned to significantly increase our production over the next five years.”
