
The 66th edition of the National Garment Fair took place in Mumbai, Maharashtra, on 29th and 30th of January 2018 and was attended by around 15,000 visitors. Apart from the broad range of products exhibited at the garment event, the organisers – Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) – also honoured the Indian apparel exporters for their outstanding contribution.
At first, while honouring the industry veteran, Textile Commissioner Kavita Gupta and Rahul Mehta, President, CMAI conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award to Sanjay Lalbhai, Executive Chairman, Arvind Lifestyle Brands Ltd. He was acknowledged for his invaluable contribution to the growth of the Indian apparel export industry.
Further, awards such as The Brand Professional of The Year, The Woman Entrepreneur of The Year, The Most Admired Clothing Company of The Year, The Entrepreneur of The Year, etc. were also distributed during the event.
109F and Zola were chosen as The Most Admired Women’s Wear Brand while Blazo and Peppermint emerged as the winners in The Most Admired KIDS Wear Brand category. Statusquo and Octave bagged The Most Admired Menswear Brand awards. The Most Admired Men’s & Women’s Innerwear Brand award was given to Jockey.
Brands like Louis Philippe and Levi’s won the Most Admired Men’s Formal Wear Brand and The Most Admired Men’s Casual Wear Brand accolades, respectively.
Meanwhile, Indian apparel and textile majors Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail Ltd. and Raymond Apparel Ltd. shared The Most Admired Clothing Company tag.
