At the World Crafts Forum 2024 held in New Delhi, the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) presented India’s rich handloom and craft heritage with the show “My Craft My Pride.” The event highlighted sustainable fashion through collections by renowned designers, including Anjana Bhargav for DHI, Payal Jain, Suket Dhir, Akaaro by Gaurav Jai Gupta, Anavila Misra, and Aidar Khan from Kazakhstan.
Sunil Sethi, Chairman of FDCI, expressed gratitude for the opportunity provided by the World Crafts Forum 2024 and DC Handicraft, Ministry of Textiles. He emphasised that the event showcases India’s sustainable crafts and their adaptability, interpreted by some of the country’s top designers. He further stated that the event underscores FDCI’s commitment to preserving traditional craftsmanship while promoting a sustainable future for fashion.
Alongside the fashion presentations, the forum also included craft dialogues and case studies, exploring the relationship between crafts and circularity in fashion, highlighting sustainable practices within the industry.
