Jack Sewing Machine, the leading sewing machine manufacturer of China, organized a two-day long fun and festivity meet near its official factory in Taizhou, China on 23rd and 24th September 2017. The meet themed ‘New Sail New Will’, witnessed attendance of a large number of Jack distributors, some of its customers, sewing industry experts and media who registered their presence to show their commitment towards Jack.
The company scheduled a factory visit followed by the ‘Overseas Distributors Conference’ for the attendees the next day. When it comes to hospitality, Jack surprised everyone. Jack’s welcome teams showed their demeanour, wearing all grey and blue Jack T-shirts, waving flags, standing in two parallel lines, giving rapturous salutation and claps to the guests chanting ‘Welcome to Jack’… Jack staff also prepared the ‘signature & picture wall’ for every guest.
The first day of the two-day programme started with a visit to all the three factories of Jack. The visitors completely engrossed themselves in observing the processes being carried out in the high-tech manufacturing and assembly lines of Jack’s new automated intelligent production line. The intelligent factory has recently witnessed US $ 20 million investment to produce 3,00,000 sewing machines and equipment in 16 lines, interestingly using only 8 operators in the entire factory. The clean and well-organized factory area clearly indicated the intensive implementation of 5S tools.
The visit to Jiaojiang factory was followed by the visit to the Jack’s new factory in Xiachen and, lastly, Jack’s owned Bullmer cutting and spreading division in Linhai. Simply put, the technological visit was well-organized and helped the visitors understand Jack’s R&D capabilities and quality standards better.
Ever since the start of ‘Overseas Distributors Conference’ in October 2016, the Jack associates were eagerly waiting to be a part of this conference and they were not disappointed. The second day started with a presentation of Jack Strategy report by its Founder Jixiang Ruan. Amidst massive cheering from the audience during his entire presentation, Ruan emphasized that Jack is already a reputed brand in ‘Basic Market’ which is mainly populated with mid/low-level customers. Apart from this, Jack has also tapped aggressively into the ‘Developing Market’ over the last few years which saw the acquisition of mid/high-level customer segment, and now, the latest strategy of the sewing technology giant would be dedicated efforts towards acquiring a major chunk in the proliferating ‘Future Market’ which actually is a market that uses intelligent sewing solutions.

“We are putting enormous efforts towards developing new products, expanding our market and improving our services to achieve our dream – to be the No. 1 sewing machine brand all over the world,” shared Ruan optimistically.
Jack is not only looking at organic growth to expand but is also on the lookout for a good technology available for acquisition. After taking over auto-cutter Bullmer in 2009, the company has added MAICA to its portfolio this year. “These acquisitions are a part of our expansion strategy and we are confident to capitalize on the brand image of MAICA for the next 3 years,” informed Ruan.
Lucy, Deputy Director, Jack International Marketing, further elaborated on the subject saying that the goals for MAICA are to expand its shirt automation technology in the markets other than that of Europe. “We are the only company which focuses on complete shirt manufacturing through automation. We have even drastically reduced the time taken to produce a shirt through our state-of-the-art technology,” shared Lucy.
Appreciating the role of the overseas distributors in Jack’s inspirational growth, Victor Kim, GM, Jack International Trade Department, in his ‘Overseas Work Report’ disclosed that, during January to June 2017 period, Jack grew by 30% as compared to the same period the previous year. While in China, the growth was even better as Jack saw a surge of 55.49% which was the highest growth among the top ten Chinese sewing machine brands. On the other hand, Jack sold 60,000 power-saving lockstitch machines in the Indian market and stood at the top here also during the period.

“During the first half of 2017, the global sales segregation was 9%, 66% and 15% for normal machines, power saving machines and UBT machines, respectively. These figures show the unquestionable growth of our power saving machines,” commented Victor.
With these results, the company is aiming to clock 35-43% growth by the end of 2017. Whereas, its growth target is set at 45% and 35% for 2018 and 2019 respectively. “By the end of 2017, Jack is expected to reach at US $ 520 million turnover, beating today’s global biggest machine brand’s target of US $ 500 million,” claims Victor.
The success of Jack in sewing market can largely be attributed to its ‘A’ series sewing machines, for which Jack has been experiencing massive response across the world. This overwhelming response has prompted Jack to extend the series beyond A4 model.
As a result, during the conference, Jack launched the new generation A5 lockstitch machine which, according to Jack, took whole two years, besides the efforts of more than 300 people of R&D division to develop. ‘The First Thread Cleanness’ machine in the world has 4 patented technologies such as: Digital alert system for oil leakage, Voice feature, Bird nest prevention system and Coaxial driving unit. The machine is also a conglomerate of auto bobbin winder, multi presser foot, suction device and electronic thread tension release system. A half-an-hour demonstration was also organized for the benefits of the distributors to make them understand the basic technicalities of the A5 model.

Sitting an entire day on chair and listening to the presentations back-to-back for 11 hours might be a difficult task for many people. Well, that was not the case with Jack conference attendees as Jack knew exactly how to keep its audience engrossed and intrigued. A 3-minute ‘funny dance ceremony’ after lunch session was another attraction of the conference. Each and every member who was present in the conference room, right from the CEO, GM, Director to the whole Jack team and the audience, tapped their feet along with the performers and, with that, Jack perfectly exemplified its mantra: ‘This is how the Jack family works’.
Several distributors from India, Bangladesh, Morocco and Ukraine also shared their experience at this quite successful meet about their working experience with Jack. This discussion revealed Jack’s rigorous efforts to promote and encourage its distributors who are its biggest assets. It is a rare company which genuinely acknowledges that the ability of its dealers to react positively to the changes of the market is something that has enhanced the company’s business enormously and effectively.
Jack recognized its best performing distributors during the conference offering them awards such as New Star Award, Promising Sales Award, Strategic End-User Award, Three Star Award, Five Star Award, Gold Award and Platinum Award. Jack Bangladesh Ltd. bagged the Gold Award whereas, India Agencies – the strategic partner of Jack in India – received the Platinum Award for its outstanding sales of Jack products in India.
Vincent Guo, Director of Jack Group, concluded on a positive note: “Jack is rapidly and convincingly moving towards achieving its goals. ‘Internationalize the innovated products’ is our mantra and we assure our customers that they will always keep getting the best of us in future. This global distributors’ communication, through the conference, will surely help in mutual development with our overseas distributors.”
