Aneeth Arora to open Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week with her sustainable brand péro

As per recent announcement by the Fashion Design Council of India, Aneeth Arora will be the opening designer of the Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week in association with NEXA Spring Summer’19. She will be showcasing her label péro, a brand that champions sustainability, on October 10, at an offsite location. The LMIFW is set to take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium from October 10 to 13, 2018.

Keeping up with her signature style of a sense of mystery in story lines and a reticent demeanour, Aneeth will surprise the audience via a poolside show where the guests will be required to wear shades as a part of their dress code.

Aneeths’s brainchild, péro, which literally translates to ‘to wear’ in Marwari, creates international aesthetics woven with the Indian heritage, using local material and skills. The brand is known for its textiles as they explore materials and techniques that have been passed down generations from one crafts person to the other. It is retailed across 35 countries and will offer endearing block prints, breezy silhouettes and intricate detailing for Spring 2019.

“It’s an honour to have the opportunity to open the fashion week and as always we will stay true to our brand philosophy. SS’19 is an attempt to unite the modern with the traditional through carefully hand crafted clothing using natural fabrics and age old Indian crafts,” said Aneeth.

FDCI President Sunil Sethi expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Aneeth Arora has been a leader in the ‘love for organic’ movement and her biggest strength is that each garment connects with the wearer in multiple ways without overpowering their personality, rather accentuating it. She will add a conversational dimension to the LMIFW as an opening designer.”
