Loyal Textile Mills Limited, manufacturer of yarn, clothes and hosiery clothes, unveils a Viral Shield, a COVID-19 range of anti-viral, reusable personal protective equipment (PPE), masks and fashionwear fabric.
The company said that all of these products have passed viral penetration test, synthetic blood penetration and the SBPR test.
Collection developed in partnership with Reliance Industries India and HeiQ from Switzerland was launched on 9 July in a virtual press conference.
The triple technology of the PPE allows multiple time wash and sterilisation for reuse. The PPE can be washed and sterilised up to 10 times and the seams are sealed by the Heat Sealing PU tapes.
R|ElanFeelFresh fibres from Reliance industries are anti-microbial that restricts the growth of any viral or bacterial elements on the fabric.
Further on this, Gunjan Sharma, CMO, Reliance Polyester, explains that these fabrics are later treated with ‘HeiQViroblock’ technology which is proven to be 99.99 per cent effective against coronavirus SARS-Cov-2 (COVID-19).
The third layer is the PU film, a viral barrier lamination from Taiwan that offers another protective layer to it.
The SS 95 medical respiratory mask is a reusable mask that offers similar protection to N95 with 95 per cent particulate filtration efficiency and 99.9 per cent bacterial filtration efficiency. These are treated with HeiQViroblock and the inner layers are R|ElanFeelFresh woven fabric.
Loyal Textiles has tied up with a couple of hospitals in Chennai and all the Tata hospitals across the country for supplying PPE kits and masks.
“The company felt the need to join the war against COVID-19 pandemic and designed reusable masks and PPE kits and fashionwear which have a triple protection technology from viruses and bacteria,” said Dhamodaraswamy Devadas, Chief Technology and Business Development Officer of Loyal Textiles Mills Limited.
