The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Delhi recently held a convocation ceremony where Union Commerce and Industry, and Textiles Minister Piyush Goyal addressed a large gathering of students.
The Minister was impressed with a development that took place last year when Vaibhav Agarwal, a student of B.F. Tech. (now graduated) broke the stereotype of easy import and adopted the arduous journey of manufacturing of indigenous mask making machine to support Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) – at a time when the country was severely hit by COVID-19 pandemic.
Appreciating the efforts of Vaibhav, Piyush Goyal said, “I appreciate our young colleague Vaibhav Agarwal’s work. Congratulations.”
The Minister also addressed the feat achieved by Vaibhav on his Instagram profile where he mentioned, “He is the young mascot of Atmanirbhar Bharat who transforms a crisis into opportunity. Developing a fully automatic mask manufacturing machine, he joins the growing force of India’s start-ups.”
It’s worth mentioning here that Apparel Resources was the first media house that gave a thorough and extensive coverage to Vaibhav’s machine that was made indigenously in October 2020.
Currently, Vaibhav is running his start-up ‘Weldots’ that has been quick to be known as one of the promising medical equipment manufacturing companies in India.
