Providing a wide array of technologies for all kinds of apparel manufacturing needs under a single umbrella, SK Impex is servicing the Ludhiana region successfully. Although present at the KnitWorld fair with specialized solutions for value additions like sequins, rhinestones, chenille and chain stitch, SK Impex also offers solutions from Pegasus, Brother, Bruce, Aura, Kansai, Realstar and Monti Antonio.
“We have been in Ludhiana for the past 12 years and since most of the industries here are dependent on the domestic market, they are currently doing better as compared to the exports,” observes Supreet Singh Luthra, MD, SK Impex. “Since the domestic market is growing, people are also looking for automation to improve their production processes,” he adds. To support such demands, the company introduced a one of a kind sequin fixing machine, which though made in China has Korean parts, enabling sequin attachment from 2 to 22 mm sizes. “The embroidery machines with sequin device that are currently available in the market are very expensive and not everyone can afford it, hence for people doing seasonal or inconsistent nature of embroidery work the machine is value for money,” adds Luthra.
The machines displayed for rhinestone, sequin, chenille and sequin attachment are specifically for producing motifs and labels of fine quality and better readability. On display was the MAGICFIX VT-141M rhinestone fixing machine, which enables fixing of 4 different types of rhinestone in a fast and accurate manner, i.e. 4 colours and 4 sizes at a time. The rhinestones are retrieved one by one from the 4 discs and positioned by gun at the speed of 140 rhinestones per minute.The machine being an upgrade of the 121M, provides a larger work surface area of 80 X 50 cm. “The most major issue faced by apparel and textile manufacturers of Ludhiana is shortage of labour and the machine displayed requires no operator skill as their task is only to load the rhinestones on to the machine,” concludes Luthra.
