With a mission to provide “the most innovative finishing products with the highest manufacturing quality at the most sensible prices”, Vaporpress International has recently introduced ‘Leonard’ finishing systems for the garment, laundry/dry cleaning and hospitality industries. The systems are not only the latest in design with many additional and new features, but are most reasonably priced too.
A joint venture between Willcox & Gibbs Sewing Machine Co and Philip J. Harber, Vaporpress became a major international supplier of finishing, washing and conveyor systems to the garment, laundry and dry cleaning industries. The company’s major products include wrinkle free & conventional pressing systems; tensioning jeans & pant finishing systems; special automated tunnel finishers for polo shirts and for seamless knitwear; dry processing jeans machines for the modern distressed look; dry cleaning and laundry presses; dry cleaning and tunnel finishers; and dry cleaning machines among others.
Among the company’s interesting products, the VP-WF series wrinkle-free press contains steam/electric heads that are capable of adjusting constant temperatures at 205°C (400°F) across the entire pressing surface. The other features include adjustable head squeeze pressure, specially designed large vacuum system in bucks and individual microprocessor that controls each machine. The system meets the rigorous and exacting requirements for processing 100% cotton wrinkle-free pants and the features further makes them absolutely flexible to process workwear/industrial uniforms, casual bottoms, classic pants and hard creased jeans also.
Leonard curing ovens, built of high quality stainless steel material, is available in both conveyorized and batch styled models. Its most popular VCO series, the U-turn garment curing ovens, are available in both gas and electric heating system. The oven maintains complete control of temperature and ensures consistent temperature to the garment within the oven.
Profinisher Leonard’s knitwear tunnel finisher can be customized to ones specific needs and energy sources. Popular with all the polo and golf shirt makers, the aluminium framed machine is adaptable to work with three different heating options – the natural gas, steam and electric heat. The Profinisher has variable speed conveyor, variable temperature setting and steam injection facility. It actually heat sets synthetic fibres for the seamless knitwear, reducing overall reduction in finishing labour by 50%.
Vaporpress and Leonard use updated technology in certain areas. The basic machine is on a similar heavy duty frame, more rugged in construction. Key parts include steam valves, vacuum valves, shock absorber and the air valves which are inter
s replacement parts (most of which are interchangeable with Hoffman/New Yorker®) have a lower selling price. Besides the microprocessor has a 20 program capacity compared to 9 programs normally. Fabricated steel head with steam spray and a low wattage heater gives even and accurate temperature allowing the press to be operated at a lower steam pressure (5.5 Bar) and still reach temperatures to 200°C.
The other products the company engages in include the wrinkle free & conventional pressing systems; tensioning jeans & pant finishing systems; special automated tunnel finishers for polo shirts and for seamless knitwear; dry processing jeans machines for the modern distressed look; dry cleaning and laundry presses; dry cleaning and tunnel finishers; and dry cleaning machines among others.
