Fruit of the Loom, a manufacturer and marketer of underwear, T-shirts, fleece and a wholly-owned subsidiary of the US-based Berkshire Hathaway, has launched its products on Amazon Fashion in more than 350 styles from signature collections such as Better Basics, Unwind, Flex, Play and Ultra Soft.
Amazon Prime-enabled Fruit of The Loom products will be delivered within one or two days across India by the e-retail mammoth. The online retailer noted a 90 per cent growth in its innerwear and lingerie category last year. It offers more than 1,500 international and home-grown brands.
Earlier last year, an agreement was signed between India’s Oban Fashions Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of undergarments manufacturer Rupa and Company Limited, and Fruit of the Loom Inc. to retail, manufacture and distribute the latter’s products in the Indian market under their brand name.
Rupa & Co. was supposed to launch Fruit of the Loom brand at 2,500 stores in the country by the end of 2017. The products were reported to be priced between Rs. 150 and Rs. 400.
Fruit of the Loom is the second label after FCUK, owned by British apparel label French Connection, to be produced and marketed in India by Rupa.
