Garment factories across India are facing several challenges as large numbers of workers keep getting infected. Yesterday Apparel Resources reported that a factory in Tirupur had 30 cases of COVID-19.
And now, a garment factory in the Kalor district of Karnataka has found 33 of its workers infected. These workers have been shifted to SNR District Hospital and their primary and secondary contacts are being tested.
The factory, on Bengaluru-Narasapura highway, situated at Bettani village, has been sealed. Around 900 workers of this facility have been screened for the virus and the reports are awaited.
It is pertinent to mention here that various factories are doing their best to protect their workers from COVID-19,and are following all the protocols suggested by the authorities.
However, whatever the workers do, outside the factory premises,is beyond the control of factories.
