The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) will organise the second edition of “Brands of India,” a mega show of Indian apparel manufacturers, in Dubai from 12th-14th November 2024, following the tremendous success of the first edition last year.
The Government of India’s Ministry of Textiles, the Embassy of India in the United Arab Emirates, the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), the Noida Apparel Export Cluster (NAEC), TEXMAS (Dubai), and the Readymade Garments Merchants Group (Dubai) are all supporting the trade event.
More than 150 Indian apparel labels and white label manufacturers will showcase a wide variety of trends in the next edition.
The main buyers at the exhibition will be prominent Middle Eastern retailers and chain stores, including Lulu Group, Landmark Group, Al Safeer Group, Brands Group, R&B, and BMA Group, which includes boutiques.
Additionally, more than a thousand importers and wholesalers from the GCC, Africa, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Germany, Greece, Singapore, South Africa, and other nations have pre-registered to attend the event.
“Brands of India” not only strengthens trade relations but also makes use of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which permits duty-free imports of apparel from India into the United Arab Emirates.
India is often regarded as a top sourcing location for buyers looking to source high-quality apparel for their market due to its affordable labour costs, flexible production capabilities, high-quality products, competitive pricing, prompt delivery, effective logistics systems, and proficiency in white-label contract manufacturing.
“Three weeks before the event, visitor pre-registrations at Brands of India had increased by 35% compared to the previous year, indicating a growing interest from around the world in sourcing from India,” said Santosh Katariya, President, CMAI, in reference to the growing demand for Indian apparel in international markets. “India has enormous potential to grow its business, particularly in the MENA area, which is a sizable market with a wealth of commercial opportunities, especially in light of the current uncertain climate at other sourcing centres.”
