India’s ethnicwear brand Torani moves ahead in its plan to expand its distribution network, as it organised a showcase on Monday to unveil its latest collection called ‘Dopahar’ at Aza, the country’s premier multi-brand luxury Indian apparel boutique.
The showcase was held at Aza’s Mumbai branch.
The collection features embroidered sarees, sheer layers and floral patterns.
Boasting of the gorgeous shades of white, red and navy, Dopahar offers some exquisite designs featuring polka dots and striped borders.
Elaborating on the how the idea of creating Dopahar struck him, the brand’s founder and designer Karan Torani shared on the official page of his label, “Amongst the many blessings in disguise, what the lockdown gave me were conversations.”
He went on to explain that the lockdown period allowed everyone including him to enjoy some uninterrupted moments of personal time.
Dopahar, for Karan, is celebrating the return of “slowing down and finally enjoying conversations with the people I love.”
The designer first introduced his womenswear and menswear collections in the country in 2018, soon venturing into kidswear in 2019.
He launched his first flagship store in New Delhi’s Khan Market with a festive collection called ‘Kala Sha Kala’ in February 2020. In addition, he also retails from its dedicated online store – www.torani.in.
