Mumbai-based Greendigo Organic Clothing – a brand for sustainable and ethical clothing for kids – has collaborated with Trishul NGO for the distribution of clothing to the underprivileged children over the festive season.
The brand founded by sisters Meghna Kishore and Barkha Bhatnagar Das are distributing clothes from their certified organic cotton childrenswear line to children in urban slums and economically underprivileged villages in partnership with Trishul over the Christmas season.
The step also helps the brand in clearing its unused organic cotton production samples and unsold inventory thereby cutting down its textile waste.
Meghna commented that “All kids love Christmas, irrespective of where they live or what traditions they follow. When we distribute Christmas gifts to underprivileged children, the look of excitement on their faces is priceless.”
This great initiative of donating the new and old clothes can help the brands in making the right use of the textile waste, which is otherwise dumped into the landfill, discarded or burnt.
