To bring Indian exporters and logistics service providers on a single platform for better price discovery, The Federation of Indian Export Organisation (FIEO) has launched a portal – easeoflogistics.com.
The portal offers value proposition to all stakeholders with live update on container availability. The exporters can post their details of container requirements directly to service providers for providing their best quotes, which will enable the service providers to approach the concerned exporters directly, negotiate container charges and decide future business plans.
Commerce and Industry, Textiles Minister Piyush Goyal recently launched this portal. As unavailability of containers is a major issue, this initiative is expected to help exporters.
Developed to facilitate Indian exporters, the portal brings in live status of container availability. This means, if containers are not readily available on this portal currently, then registered exporters can get the timeline as to when and how many containers are going to be available along with suppliers’ name and address. This will help exporters to plan their shipment schedule and confirm business transactions accordingly.
Over 1,800 exporters and more than 300 service providers have already registered themselves on the portal.
To ensure an effective response rate to exporters’ demand, FIEO has also obtained support from all leading logistics associations including Container Shipping Lines (CSLA), Freight Forwarders (FFFAI) and Association of Multimodel Transport Operators of India (AMTOI).
