The Dhaka International Textile & Garment Machinery Exhibition (DTG 2014) is set to be held in February from 12th to 15th, 2014 at the BICC (Bangabandhu International Conference Centre) in Agargaon, Sher-e-bangla Nagar, Dhaka. It is the largest gatherings of textiles and garments manufacturers in Bangladesh, with more than 950 booths and occupied by world’s leading brands from 31 countries, exhibiting spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, printing, finishing, sewing, iron & hanger system, CAD/CAM, testing and other related machinery, equipments and spare parts.
The immense event is jointly organized by Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA), Chan Chao International and Yorkers Trade and Marketing Service, Hong Kong. Last year Kazi Akramuddin Ahmed, President, FBCCI formally inaugurated the mega event highlighting the importance of textile industry for its contribution to the country’s economy.
The DTG not only provides the opportunity for an excellent gathering of the international suppliers and buyers to expand business to global markets, but also brought in foreign investment and provide the driving force to production and economic growth of Bangladesh. The event is designed to be the trendsetter for the industry player to showcase new technology, state-of-the-art equipment, materials and services, as well as an excellent avenue to accelerate Bangladeshi technological advances that will impart effective quality, high speed and competitive cost to gain that all important edge in textile & garments industry.
Attracting more than 30,830 international and local visitors, most of the participants were satisfied with the performance and fruitful outcome of the last edition of the fair, and 90% of the exhibitors showed interests in participating in the upcoming DTG 2014. More than a thousand machines were sold during the 4-day event last year, amounting to a total business of US $ 175 million, in terms of onsite orders received.
