India’s one of the most substantial textile and garment industry-related associations – Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) recently held a seminar titled, ‘Warp Knitting: The Technology for Synthetic Fabric Innovation’, at its Knitwear Technology Mission Centre in Tirupur.
Inaugurated by V. Elangovan, Chairman of KTM Sub Committee, the seminar highlighted the technological advancements in synthetic fabric manufacturing from tricot and Rachel warp knitting in the industry.
During the seminar, Vikram Chaurasia, Dy. General Manager from A.T.E. Enterprises, Mumbai; Rajinikanth, Senior Manager and T. S. Prem Kumar, Manager from ATE Enterprises, Coimbatore gave presentations to explain the novel technologies trending in tricot and Rachel warp knitting for producing fresh variations of synthetic apparel fabrics.
Information about the current developments in machines and methods for textile dyeing and finishing was also shared at the seminar. Other than this, K. Rajendrakumar, Director-KTM also performed operation on warp knitting machine installed at KTM centre.

Further emphasizing on the need for fabric diversification and utilization of man-made fibres (MMF) for export promotion, Elangovan asked the fashion institutes to reconnoitre new possibilities for wide-ranging use of synthetic fabrics to create variety of designs. The Chairman also underlined the scope of synthetic fabrics in technical applications.
