In a Series E investment round led by Goldman Sachs Investment Partners, apparel resale website operator thredUP Inc. received US $ 81 million, making the total amount raised by the company to more than US $ 125 million. Thredup.com buys and sells pre-owned clothing for women and children mainly, at cheaper prices. Existing investors of thredUP, Trinity Ventures, Upfront Ventures, Highland Capital Partners and Redpoint Ventures also participated in the funding round. The new investment will be used to expand operations and distribution networks in the US. A part of it will also be used as a secondary component for early thredUP employees. It aims to process more than two million pieces of clothing every month by the end of 2016.
