Wildcraft, an adventure and outdoor products brand, has invested Rs. 80 crore to establish a warehouse in Sira, Karnataka, stretching an area of 3.5 lakh sq.ft, as mentioned by Gaurav Dublish, co-founder of Wildcraft.
In the coming 18-36 months, the brand aims to infuse an additional Rs. 40 crore to expand production capacity next to this warehouse facility.
“The financing for the greenfield warehouse was assisted through a combination of internal resources and debt lines accessible to us. By July, we seek to merge our four existing warehouses stretching 1.5 lakh to 2 lakh sq.ft, into the new facility, which covers an area of over 3 lakh to 3.5 lakh sq.ft,” he shared.
“After attaining stability, we will begin the second phase of the greenfield project. Once fully operational, the project is projected to create employment opportunities for around 5,000 individuals and strengthen our position for the next 5-10 years,” he shared.
At present, the brand’s production capacity stands at 5 million units, operating at full strength. “We foresee demand to rise to 10 million units within the next 2-3 years,” he added.
Wildcraft has its in-house R&D lab and manufacturing facility founded in 2008. Presently, 75 per cent of its products are manufactured in-house, with 20 per cent obtained from India and the remaining 5 per cent imported.
Having a collection of 1,300 products across three categories—clothing, footwear, and accessories—the brand set forth its revenue streams, with accessories contributing 50-60 per cent, apparel 30 per cent, and footwear taking up the remaining share. Presently, the brand has a third of its stores inside malls and the leftover present in high streets.
