Most of the machine suppliers and dealers claim high-end automated sewing machines and workstations as their niches, but are expensive. With the agenda of ‘affordable automation’, Loiva has a wide gamut of solutions, tried and tested in various apparel manufacturing scenarios. Participating at the CISMA show, Loiva would be showing innovations and interventions from Sakho, Martin Group, Nissin and H&H, along with its popular button feeding and knotting machines, the ST-12 and ST-10.
Used for knotting and wrapping buttons, the ST-10 strengthens the stem with the help of standard sewing thread of the button and two machines can be operated by a single person at a time. The operator has to just feed the button into the slot and push the start button and on the completion of the cycle time, machine stops automatically and the thread gets trimmed. The patented ST-12 is a button feeder attachment in which a robot mechanism device is used to feed the buttons to the button clamp of the button sewing machine. It can be easily installed to any brand of lockstitch button sewing machine and with its enhanced feeding speed the buttonholing machine can be used up to its maximum, resulting in higher productivity.
A cost-effective alternative to investing in expensive button holing and sewing indexers, are the SA-5800 BH indexer attachment for buttonholing and SA-5800 BS indexer attachment for button sewing. The complete apparatus is equipped with a multi-function LCD screen, automatic fabric detectors and finished part stacker. Developed by Sakho (Loiva’s sister concern), the indexer attachment can sew 7 button holes in a matter of just 25 seconds and 6 buttons in 12 seconds (when the buttonholing machine is equipped with the ST-12 button feeder device). Another innovation from the company for deskilling the run-stitching operations of collars, flaps, shoulder tabs, cuffs and collar band joining is the MJ-3400 Autojig machine, designed in such a way that a cycle time of the operation is minimized by using powerful stepping motors and microprocessors controlled pneumatic systems. The other advantage of the machine is that it does not have a feed dog, instead has a sandwich feeding system for good stitch quality in all kinds of fabric.
The X1000 KEL fusing machine from Martin Group is equipped with an upper and lower heating system with 2 independent electronic thermostats at the entry, preheating and exit zone. The heating top has 9 resistive elements which allow the use of lower temperatures for shorter fusing time.
Welding machines from H&H CHINA would also be a part of Loiva’s showcase at the fair. A hot air sealing machine with a maximum welding speed of 60 feet per minute, the AI – 001 has a 3D electronic nozzle positioning system and differential speed top/bottom roller. The innovation makes possible three layer seam sealing designed for thick or heavy duty materials used in rainwear, wind breaker, ski jacket, tent, sleeping bag or knapsacks. The machine is 30% faster and consumes 5% less tape than its competitors. Another variant from H&H is the SF-013 hot air seam sealing machine with stitching-free tape laydown and trimmer. With a maximum sealing speed of 30 feet per minute, the machine can seal both straight and curved seams on 2D and 3D constructions. Perfect for knitted fabrics and Lycra yarns, the machine has a height adjustable high speed cutter, differential speed top/bottom roller, start/stop pressure releasing mechanism and digital tensioning device.
Also highlighted would be the X1000 KEL Fusing Machines from Italy-based Martin Group, which has been manufacturing fusing machines only for a wide variety of sewn products for the past 40 years, acquiring a niche in not only the machines but also in manufacturing all its spare parts like belts, stacker, etc. The X1000 fusing machine is equipped with an upper and lower heating system with 2 independent electronic thermostats at the entry, preheating and exit zone. The heating top has 9 resistive elements which allow the use of lower temperatures or of a shorter manufacturing time. With the unique reverse feeding option, operators can make the belt work in reverse in case they have inserted a wrongly placed piece or a metal object has accidently gone with the pieces.
