Graduating students of Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT), Ludhiana (India), a College of Design, Management and Technology, showcased their creativity at ANU KAMA ’16, an annual design collection show.
Students designed versatile outfits, especially for theme-based sequences. The designs were adorned by professional models. While Best Design Collection Award was bagged by Sonali Narula for her assortment ‘LAMBANI’, most creative collection awards were given to Vishal Kumar for ‘COMBATANT’, and Upasana Sharma for ‘INCREDIBLE ENGINEER’… Most Art & Skill Implementation Collection Award went to Prabhjot Kaur for her beautiful ‘LOKDHARA’ collection.

ANU KAMA ’16 proved to be a platform where 2.5 years of thorough training and six months of diligent preparation was presented by students through their work. Each student worked on a theme and showcased five ensembles related to that theme. They were especially trained to solve problems and undertake explorations relating to latest technology, raw materials and processes, to develop creative collections.
The show presented a rich blend of mesmerizing 19 collections, designed by talented and creative fashion graduates from Ludhiana centre. These young students came up with fabulous collections, which were high on style quotient, ranging from very wearable to ultra-experimental ones. The students creatively used wovens, knits, rib, woollen blends, silk, cotton, appliqué work, digital printing, traditional embroideries, and laser cutting technology, to enhance the creativity of their pieces.

Madan Mohan Mittal, Minister, Industries and Commerce, Technical Education & Industrial Training, Punjab and Anirudh Tewari, Chairman, Tanu Kashyap, DG, NIIFT, Ravi Bhagat, DC, Ludhiana, Inderjit Singh, Director, Mahesh Khanna, Centre In-charge and other dignitaries appreciated the efforts of students.
