Despite many challenges at national and international level, some of the Indian textile and clothing companies are continuously expanding. Amber Home, Mumbai, a home furnishing player which two years ago entered into shirt and workwear manufacturing for export, is now going to start a unit of the knitted garment. This new unit in Solapur (Maharashtra) will have an initial capacity of 3,000 pieces daily and Polo tees will be their core products.
Nimish Shah, Partner of the company told, “Our knitted products are particularly for African countries. We got this buyer through reference and it is our first ever deal with an African buyer, but we are hopeful to get regular orders from there.”
This project is expected to start production within one month. It has the capacity of home furnishing products (mainly kitchen linen 5,000 pieces per day) and shirts and workwear (2,000 pieces per day). The company works with some top retailers also.
The company is working with prestigious retailers like Walmart as well as midsize buyers and it is in process to start working with some prestigious global buying houses.
