Start-ups are continuously venturing into apparel manufacturing and are getting successful as well. Team Apparel Resources recently met a few professionals in Bangalore who after gathering enough experience in garment business started their own factories.
One of them was Harsha, who has worked as a merchandiser and has undertaken various other roles in top apparel companies like Arvind Ltd., Madura Fashion & Lifestyle. Just four months back, he started his own organization Seam Works.
Having 200 machines in Bangalore, his firm offers formal shirts with its own brand and is expanding further. “I am very happy that so far our operations of four months went smoothly and now we are moving forward with a new factory. My idea was to come with multiple categories, but I started with shirts as there is huge scope in this category,” shared Harsha.
Upcoming new unit of 1,000 machines (in phase manner) will be in Andhra Pradesh and will be a big support to target premium brands in domestic and overseas markets. For this expansion plan, Harsha recently also visited a technology event and explored advance machines and technology.
“My passion for product development is one of the main reasons to start my own organization and my team will focus on the same to succeed,” Harsha concluded.
